2004-04-27 - 9:43 p.m.

My dad is trying to get ahold of his friend the electrician, but hasn't been too successful... therefore, the light is still out in the computer room/study, and since it got dark and cloudy after lunch, after I got home from my weekly jaunt to Lowell, I wasn't able to type up Chapter 6 of "Under the Gun" the way I had planned to do today. (Though I *did* get the rest of my carpet vacuumed today.)

So why am I typing this in the dark, since the date stamp on this entry indicates that it's well past sundown and into the evening? I can see the screen of the monitor just fine since that's brightly lit, and I'm spinning this out off the top of my head, not typing from a manuscript on the page stand next to the monitor. Plus we don't seem to have an extra lamp to spare and set on the small school-type desk I use as a stand for the ink-jet printer, as a stop-gap till we get the light fixed.

Until we get the light fixed, I guess I'll be doing a *lot* of writing! Maybe I'll finish writing "Under the Gun", since I have just one or two chapters left in that.
