Sensible part of the entry:

Went in to work today to see if I could get any hours sacking groceries. I spoke with Jeff Lereaux, the head cashier, who told me that he'd call me when he could find a way to fit me into the schedule. So far he hasn't called, but I imagine -- since most of the sackers tend to be high school kids -- someone's going to call in to work some day thiss week saying they can't work for whatever reason, and then I'll be called in to fill the gap.

Less than sensible part:

I seem to be fated to work with short guys in this store. Mr. Dick, the store manager, is two inches shorter than I am, and Mr. Lereaux is about the same height as me (about 5 foot 7 inches)...
